What is ExoSmart?

ExoSmart is a medical device system that collects the exosomes in your own plasma and concentrates them into a serum. Exosomes are the signals cells use to start repair, so a concentrated dose gives the skin a strong prompt to renew collagen and elastin.

Because the serum comes from you, there is no donor tissue and nothing from another person or animal. It is made fresh at your appointment rather than taken from a stored bottle.

How the treatment works

A small amount of blood is taken from your arm, as for a routine blood test. The plasma is separated, then passed through the ExoSmart filter membrane, which holds back the exosomes and concentrates them into about 6 ml of serum.

The serum is then placed into the skin with fine injections or alongside microneedling. Many patients combine it with Sylfirm X, Aerolase or BBL laser treatment at the clinic, so the skin’s repair response is supported while it renews.

Is it right for you?

It may suit you if

  • You prefer a treatment made from your own body
  • You want better skin quality without fillers
  • You are planning laser or microneedling and want to support recovery

It may not be suitable if

  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • You have a blood disorder or take blood-thinning medication
  • You have an active skin infection in the area
  • You are unwell or have a fever on the day

If you have a medical condition or take regular medication, tell us at your consultation. We may ask you to speak to your GP first.

Risks and side effects

The serum comes from your own blood, but the blood test and the injections carry the usual small risks.

  • A bruise where blood was taken
  • Redness, swelling and tenderness in the treated skin
  • Small bruises at injection points, particularly under the eyes
  • Rarely, infection

We explain the risks that apply to you at your consultation, along with what to do and who to contact if anything worries you afterwards.

Individual results vary. Results depend on your skin, age, lifestyle, the number of sessions and how closely you follow aftercare advice.

Questions

ExoSmart questions

Anything else? Ask us at your free consultation, or call 020 7531 6600.

How is ExoSmart different from your other exosome treatments?

Our exosome treatments use a ready-made product from a marine source. ExoSmart makes the exosomes from your own blood during your visit.

Is the blood test painful?

It is a small sample from your arm, much like a routine blood test. Most people feel a brief scratch.

When will I see a difference?

Many people notice fresher-looking skin within a few days. Firmness and texture keep improving over the following weeks as new collagen forms. Individual results vary.

How many sessions will I need?

We will give you a plan at your consultation.

Can I combine ExoSmart with laser?

Yes. It is often used straight after Sylfirm X, Aerolase or BBL treatment at the clinic, to support the skin as it recovers.
